Joie Muscat 2006

Aptly described on the label as "the pure grape", this wine from Joie Wines claimed many awards last year, including the Lieutenant-Governors Award for Wine Excellence, a Double Gold Medal – Best in Class at the 2007 All Canadian Wine Championships, a Double-Gold Medal at the Wine Press Northwest Platinum Competition, a Silver Medal at the 2007 Canadian Wine Awards and a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Northwest Wine Summit. We brought this one out for dinner with some BC wine lover friends, Paul and Leanne. We all agreed that this was a wine worthy of its many accolades!

The floral notes of rose-hips on the nose give way to a leechy nut flavour on the palate, and a mild tart, slight green apple finish. Having a low 10.5% alcohol content was refreshing. Congratulations to Joie!
