"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Hawksworth's Wine Director and Vancouver's Sommelier of the Year Terry Threlfall and his whole sommelier team on this project. " said Orofino winemaker and co-owner John Weber. "It is an authentic collaboration between our world-class Similkameen fruit, Orofino's winemaking style and the sophisticated palates of some of the top sommeliers in the country."

The wines were named "H's Blend" and are the culmination of a project that started last summer. The two wines, one white and one red, were considered long before any grapes were even picked. Grape varietals and Similkameen vineyards were chosen and the wines were created. At one stage, Weber met with the entire Hawksworth sommelier team to taste the initial wines and create the blends that are available exclusively at Hawksworth restaurant and Bel Cafe. It was a unique collaboration throughout the creative process.

Hawksworth Restaurant has listed a number of Orofino's wines on their platinum award-winning wine list. They felt that Orofino could deliver the very best wines to complement and enhance David Hawksworth's contemporary Canadian cuisine. "We are proud to align with one of BC's most respected wineries, using grapes from Canada's most distinctive appellation to create our own exclusive wine blends" said David Hawksworth upon the release of "H's Blend".
