FVWA PosterLast year we dubbed the Fraser Valley wine region as the Fauxkanagan, and love the idea of wine touring in our own backyard. Well now they're putting on a big show that we want to tell you about…

The Fraser Valley Wineries Association will host their First Annual Wine & Culinary Extravaganza in Langley.

Date: Saturday, September 6th
Time: 2-5pm
Venue: High Point Equestrian Estate Community
Tix: $50 + tax (available at www.fvwa.ca)

This event brings together the best of country life – local wines, alongside local food prepared by local restaurants, complemented by live entertainment.

In addition to the 12 wineries that will be pouring their recent releases, nibbles and bites will be provided by: Bacchus Bistro, Coza! Tuscan Grill, Gone Crackers, Hazelmere Golf Club, Krause Berry Farms, Origin Organic Farms, The Seasonal Experience, Vista D'oro Farms, Westham Island Herb Farm, and more.

Visiting the “Fauxkanagan”

Yesterday we went to Township 7 Vineyards & Winery in Langley, BC to attend their 1st Annual Artisan Affair. Fittingly we went along with our pals Sharole & Diego, who joined us for our 2006 Okanagan wine trip to Naramata.

It might have been the wine combined with our sense of humour, but it was last summer we came up with a nickname for the burgeoning Fraser Valley winery scene: The Fauxkanagan.
