Hawthorne Mountain Gewürztraminer 2005

Last night we opened a bottle of this – my first taste of wine in almost two weeks due to a nasty cold that is plaguing me. I haven't felt like having any wine over this time, much less been able to enjoy anything alcoholic.

Anyhow, this Gewürztraminer, of which we have tried a few time since the summer, is a beauty. It has a peachy/pink hue, fruity nose and is just a fabulous sipping wine. I find it less sweet than some Gewürztraminers, which makes it very pleasant and one of my faves.

I go on to vouch for many of Hawthorne Mountain's wines. We have been visiting the winery annually for the past four years, and always come away with a great experience (both the wines offered and the hosting).
