We caught up with the proprietor of Campagnolo, a new Vancouver wine bar on trendy Main Street. The area of the bar is pretty close to the "edgy" Downtown Eastside, but it's a pretty safe and civilized area. The bar itself is simple and elegantly appointed, with an open dining area in front and a smaller bar area in back. There is a review of Campagnolo here at MartiniBoys.com.
Tom took out some time to discuss the origins of the bar and the neighbourhood it is situated in. This is the first of a 2-part interview. In the second we'll hear about Tom's own wine label, and the close relations he keeps with members of BC's winemaking community.
